Call of Dragons Factions Explained: League of Order, Springwardens or Wilderburg?
Which faction should you pick in Call of Dragons? A clear comparison of League of Order, Springwardens and Wilderburg – their style, strengths and who each one suits.
Call of DragonsFactions Explained The first real decision in Call of Dragons is your faction. It shapes the look of your city, the units you’ll lean on and the way your armies feel in battle. The good news: there’s no wrong choice – just different play styles.
The three factions at a glance
| Faction | Theme | Play style |
|---|---|---|
| League of Order | Humans, discipline and magic | Balanced and flexible, comfortable with mages |
| Springwardens | Elves and nature | Mobile, ranged and tactical |
| Wilderburg | Beast-folk and raw strength | Aggressive, hard-hitting front lines |
League of Order
League of Order is the “all-rounder” choice. It suits players who like versatile armies and enjoy magic units. If you’re not sure what you’ll enjoy yet, it’s a comfortable starting point.
Good for: new players, mixed armies, flexible strategies.
Springwardens
Springwardens favour mobility and ranged combat. They reward players who like positioning, picking fights carefully and using the map to their advantage.
Good for: tactical players, ranged-focused armies, players who enjoy outmanoeuvring opponents.
Wilderburg
Wilderburg is built for players who like to charge in. Their style leans towards strong front lines and direct, aggressive combat.
Good for: aggressive players, PvP-minded players, straightforward strategies.
Does faction lock your heroes?
No. Your faction affects your units and city, but heroes from any faction can lead your armies. You’ll still collect and use heroes across all three factions – which is why hero pairing matters more than faction in many fights. See our talents and hero pairing guide.
How to choose
Ask yourself three questions:
- Do I like charging in or picking my moment? Wilderburg for the former, Springwardens for the latter.
- Do I want flexibility above all? League of Order.
- Which look do I enjoy? You’ll be staring at your city for months – pick the one you like.
Can you change later?
Faction changes are possible in some situations, but they can be costly or limited, so treat your first choice as long-term. Check the in-game options before planning a switch.
