RAID Hydra Clan Boss Guide: Heads, Keys and Team Building Basics
Hydra is RAID's multi-headed clan boss. Learn how the weekly fight works, why it's different from the Demon Lord and how to build a team that contributes.

Hydra is the second major clan boss in RAID. Unlike the Demon Lord, it’s a weekly challenge and you fight several heads at once, each with its own abilities. It rewards planning and roster depth more than raw damage.
How Hydra works
- Hydra runs on a weekly cycle, with a small number of keys to use during the week.
- You fight multiple heads, each with different skills and threats.
- As heads are defeated, others can take their place during the fight.
- Your total damage across the week determines your rewards, and your clan’s total adds clan rewards.
Why it’s different from the Demon Lord
| Demon Lord | Hydra |
|---|---|
| One boss | Several heads at once |
| Daily keys | Weekly keys |
| Predictable pattern – great for speed tunes | More varied threats per head |
| Survival-focused unkillable teams dominate | Mix of survival, control and damage |
Team roles
- Cleanse and Block Debuffs – Hydra heads place nasty debuffs.
- Decrease Defense and Weaken – essential for damage.
- Healing and revives – champions will fall, and getting them back keeps damage flowing.
- Damage dealers – AoE damage is useful because several heads are on the field.
- Turn-meter control – slowing heads reduces how often their dangerous skills fire.
Getting started
- Start on the lowest difficulty your clan uses and learn the heads’ patterns.
- Watch a manual run to see which head is killing your team.
- Adjust one champion at a time – often a cleanser fixes more than extra damage.
- Spend all your weekly keys – unused keys are lost rewards.
Tips for more damage
- Prioritise survival. A team that lasts longer deals more damage.
- Focus heads that are most dangerous to your team.
- Use Accuracy – debuffs need to land. See our accuracy guide.
- Coordinate with your clan on difficulty choices.
Is Hydra worth it early?
Yes – even modest damage contributes to clan rewards. Don’t wait for a perfect team. Bring your best Clan Boss and dungeon champions, learn the fight and improve gradually.
Hydra is a long-term project, and every new champion you build for other modes tends to make your Hydra team better too. If you’re just getting started with clan bosses, read our Clan Boss guide first.
