RAID Fusion Events Explained: How to Plan and Finish a Fusion
Fusions are one of the best ways for free players to earn epic and legendary champions in RAID. Here's how they work and how to plan your energy and resources.
Fusions let you combine champions or fragments earned through events into a brand-new champion – often a powerful epic or legendary. For free-to-play players, they’re one of the most reliable ways to get high-rarity champions without relying on summon luck.
The two main formats
Champion fusions
You earn several specific champions through events and tournaments during the fusion period, then combine them in the Fusion screen to create the reward champion. The required champions may themselves need to be obtained or fused from lower-rarity champions.
Fragment fusions
You collect fragments of the reward champion through events. Once you have enough fragments, the champion is yours.
Both formats run on a schedule: each step is tied to specific events, so missing one can make finishing the fusion much harder.
Why fusions are valuable
- Guaranteed reward if you finish – no summon luck involved.
- Fusion champions are often strong in specific content.
- The events along the way give extra resources on top.
How to plan a fusion
- Read the full calendar when the fusion is announced. Note every event and tournament involved.
- Estimate your energy needs. Dungeon and campaign events need lots of energy.
- Save resources in advance – energy, shards, silver, XP boosts – for the events that need them.
- Decide early whether you’ll finish. A half-finished fusion wastes resources.
Should you do every fusion?
No. Before committing, ask:
- Does this champion fill a role my account is missing?
- Can I realistically finish it with my current energy and resources?
- Will it be useful in content I play – Clan Boss, dungeons, Arena, Doom Tower?
If the answer is “no” to the first question, it’s often better to spend your energy on gear.
Saving tips
- Stockpile energy from daily quests and events before a big fusion.
- Hold shards for summon tournaments that feed the fusion.
- Keep silver ready for upgrade events.
- Use gems for energy refills only during the fusion’s key events – see our gem guide.
Common mistakes
- Starting late and missing an early event.
- Underestimating energy costs.
- Chasing every fusion and finishing none.
A well-planned fusion is one of the most satisfying wins in RAID – a new top champion earned entirely through planning.
