World of Sea Battle Beginner Guide: Ships, Trade Routes and Staying Afloat
New captain in World of Sea Battle? Learn how to choose your first ships, earn money through trade and PvE, and avoid losing everything to pirates.
World of Sea BattleBeginner Guide World of Sea Battle is an open-world Age of Sail MMO. Unlike arena shooters, losing a ship here can cost you real progress – so careful captains progress faster than reckless ones.
Start small, learn the sea
Your first ships are small and nimble. Use them to learn the basics:
- Wind matters. Sailing with the wind is much faster than against it. Plan routes accordingly.
- Sails control speed. Lower sails to turn tighter in combat; raise them to cruise.
- Broadsides. Most cannons fire from the sides, so turning your ship to present a broadside is the core of combat.
Making money
Early income usually comes from a mix of:
| Activity | Pros | Cons |
|---|---|---|
| Trading between ports | Steady, low risk in safe waters | Requires route knowledge |
| PvE fights against NPC ships | Loot and experience | Damage costs repairs |
| Missions | Guided progress and rewards | Can send you into risky waters |
Combine them: trade on the way to a PvE area, then return loaded with loot.
Don’t risk what you can’t afford to lose
- Insure or protect valuable ships and cargo where possible.
- Avoid danger zones with a full hold until you understand PvP risks.
- Don’t sail your best ship everywhere – a cheaper ship for risky trips limits losses.
Upgrade gradually
Bigger ships cost more to buy, crew and repair. Moving up a size class too fast can drain your money. Step up when you can comfortably afford repairs and losses.
Join a guild
Guilds offer protection, group PvE, trade cooperation and territory control. Experienced members can teach you profitable routes and combat tricks much faster than trial and error.
Sail smart, keep a financial cushion and grow your fleet one step at a time.
