RAID Unkillable Clan Boss Teams Explained (Without the Jargon)
What does 'unkillable' actually mean in RAID? A beginner-friendly explanation of how Unkillable and Block Damage teams work, why speed tuning matters and how to start.
If you’ve spent any time in RAID communities, you’ve seen people talk about “unkillable” Clan Boss teams. It sounds like magic – a team that never dies. It’s actually a carefully timed loop of buffs, and once you understand the idea, it’s surprisingly logical.
The core idea
The Demon Lord hits hard, but it attacks on a predictable pattern. An unkillable team uses champions who can keep protective buffs up exactly when the boss attacks:
- Unkillable – HP can’t drop below 1.
- Block Damage – no damage is taken at all.
If those buffs are always active when the boss hits, your team survives indefinitely, dealing damage for the full length of the fight.
Why speed tuning matters
Buffs only last a certain number of turns. For the loop to work, the champions providing those buffs must act at precise moments relative to the boss. That’s done by setting each champion to a specific Speed range – this is called speed tuning.
Too fast or too slow and the buff drops at the wrong moment, the boss lands a hit, and the loop breaks.
Famous unkillable champions
| Champion | What they bring |
|---|---|
| Maneater | Places Unkillable on the team |
| Pain Keeper | Reduces cooldowns so key skills come back faster |
| Demytha | Provides Block Damage and cooldown-related support |
| Heiress | Used in some well-known speed-tuned setups |
You don’t need all of them – many tunes exist for different rosters, including budget versions built mostly from more common champions.
How players find their tune
The community has mapped many tunes in detail, with exact Speed ranges for each slot. Most players:
- Pick a tune that matches the champions they already have.
- Gear each champion into its exact Speed range, using gear and substats.
- Test on a lower difficulty first to confirm the loop holds.
- Move up to Nightmare and Ultra-Nightmare once it’s stable.
The damage side
Survival is half of it. The other champions in the team are damage dealers – often relying on Poison, HP Burn, Decrease Defense and Weaken to maximise damage over the long fight.
Is it worth it?
For most mid-game players, yes. An unkillable team:
- Deals far more damage than a normal team.
- Gives better chests every day.
- Lets you run Clan Boss on auto, saving time.
Before you start
- Get comfortable with speed and turn meter basics.
- Build a solid normal team first – see our Clan Boss guide.
- Expect to re-gear a few champions for exact Speed values.
Unkillable teams are one of RAID’s most satisfying projects. Once your first tune holds, Clan Boss becomes the easiest win of your day.
