Hero Wars Guild Wars Guide: Attacking, Defending and Helping Your Guild Win
Guild Wars are Hero Wars' biggest team competition. How attacks and defences work, how to choose targets and how every member can contribute – even smaller accounts.
Hero WarsGuild Wars Guide Guild Wars pit your guild against another in a battle for points. Members attack the enemy’s defences while defending their own, and the guild with the better result wins rewards for everyone. It’s where Hero Wars feels most like a team game.
How Guild Wars work
- Guilds are matched against opponents of similar strength.
- Each guild sets up defences using members’ heroes and titans.
- During the war, members attack enemy defences to earn points.
- Results determine rewards for every participating member.
Exact schedules and rules can change between seasons, so always check your guild’s announcements and the in-game war screen.
Before the war
- Make sure your defence is set – an empty or weak slot is easy points for the enemy.
- Upgrade your strongest heroes and titans – both can matter. See our titans guide.
- Read guild chat for the plan.
Choosing attack targets
- Follow your guild’s target assignments if they exist.
- Pick fights you can win – a failed attack often earns nothing.
- Check the defending team’s composition, not just its power.
- Use counters: magic damage against high-armour teams, physical damage against high magic defence.
Smaller accounts can still help
You don’t have to be the strongest member to contribute:
- Use all your attacks on targets you can beat.
- Keep your defence set, even if it’s modest.
- Coordinate with stronger members so they take the hardest targets.
Building good defences
| Tip | Why |
|---|---|
| Use durable heroes | Defences need to survive without manual control |
| Include healing | Long fights favour the side that recovers |
| Mix damage types | Harder for attackers to counter |
| Use your best titans | Titan defences matter too |
After the war
- Claim your rewards.
- Talk with your guild about what worked and what didn’t.
- Upgrade the heroes or titans that made the biggest difference.
Common mistakes
- Missing attacks.
- Attacking targets you can’t beat.
- Leaving defence slots empty.
- Ignoring titans.
Guild Wars reward participation and coordination. Use every attack, follow the plan and your guild will climb together. More team-building tips in our team building guide.
