Brawl Stars Brawl Ball Guide: Passing, Wall Breaking and Scoring Under Pressure

Brawl Ball rewards teamwork more than any other mode. How to carry, pass and shoot the ball, when to break walls with Supers and how to defend your goal.

Brawl Ball is football with explosions. Two teams of three fight over a single ball, and the first team to score two goals wins – or the team with more goals when time runs out. It’s chaotic, fast and very rewarding when your team plays together.

Carrying the ball

While you hold the ball, you can’t use your normal attack – you can only pass or shoot. That changes how you move:

  • Carry the ball behind teammates, not in front of them.
  • Pass before you get surrounded – a quick pass beats a heroic solo run.
  • Shoot from a safe angle rather than dribbling into three enemies.

Passing

Passing is the most underused skill in Brawl Ball:

  1. Pass forward to a teammate who has space.
  2. Pass backward to reset when the enemy blocks the path.
  3. Pass around walls to get the ball past defenders.

A team that passes well is very hard to defend against.

Breaking walls

Many maps protect the goal with walls. Some Supers and attacks can destroy walls, opening up shooting lanes:

  • Break walls early if your team has strong shooters.
  • Keep walls up if you’re defending a lead.
  • Watch the enemy – if they break your walls, adjust your defence.

Team roles

RoleJob
Ball carrier / strikerMoves the ball forward and scores
Escort / tankPushes enemies away and clears space
DefenderStays back to stop counterattacks

Close-range tanks and brawlers with knockback or crowd control are especially strong in Brawl Ball.

Defending

  • Always leave someone near your goal when the enemy has the ball.
  • Knock the ball loose – defeating the carrier drops it.
  • Body-block shots by standing in the path of the ball.

Overtime

If the score is tied when time runs out, the match goes into overtime. Maps often change to make scoring easier, so stay calm and focus on the ball – the next goal usually wins.

Common mistakes

  • Everyone chasing the ball and leaving the goal open.
  • Running into enemies instead of passing.
  • Shooting from too far away where defenders can easily block.

Brawl Ball is the best mode to practise teamwork. Pass more, defend smart, and goals will come. See our beginner tips for general fundamentals.
