AFK Arena Beginner Guide: Your First Two Weeks Done Right

New to AFK Arena? What to focus on in your first two weeks – campaign progress, your first five heroes, guilds and the habits that keep an account growing.

AFK Arena looks simple – your heroes fight on their own and earn rewards while you’re away – but the decisions you make in the first two weeks decide how smoothly the next few months go. This guide keeps things practical.

How the game works in one minute

  • The campaign is your main progress bar. Every stage you clear increases your idle income.
  • Idle rewards (the AFK chest) fill up over time, even when you’re offline.
  • Heroes are levelled with gold and Hero’s Essence, then ascended to higher tiers for big stat jumps.
  • Side modes – King’s Tower, Arcane Labyrinth, Bounty Board, Arena, Guild hunts – give the resources you need to grow faster.

Push the campaign, collect your rewards, invest in the right heroes. That loop is the whole game.

Days 1–3: push and collect

  1. Push the campaign as far as you can. Early stages fall quickly, and every stage boosts your idle income.
  2. Collect your AFK chest regularly. It stops filling once it’s full – see our idle rewards guide.
  3. Use the free Fast Reward every day.
  4. Finish the starter quests – they hand out heroes, scrolls and diamonds.

Days 3–7: choose your core five

Your five highest-level heroes matter more than any others, because the Resonating Crystal later shares their level with the rest of your roster. Pick five heroes and focus all levelling on them:

  • One or two frontliners who can survive (tanks or durable warriors).
  • One support or healer.
  • Two damage dealers.

Not sure who’s good? Start with our hero tier list and the classes and roles guide.

Days 7–14: open up the side modes

  • Join an active guild – guild hunts and the guild store are a huge boost. More in our guild guide.
  • Run the Arcane Labyrinth whenever it’s available for Labyrinth tokens.
  • Start the King’s Tower – floors give one-time rewards and unlock new content.
  • Dispatch the Bounty Board every day.
  • Do a few Arena fights for daily quests and Hero Coins.

What to ignore at first

  • Random diamond summons – save diamonds for events and your wishlist.
  • Levelling heroes outside your core five.
  • Cosmetics and skins.
  • Chasing every new hero that’s released.
